Basic Grey Cards

I don't make cards to often. For the occasional birthday or Christmas for the teachers. I also did a card swap with a group of scrap friends a few years ago that was a lot of fun. Otherwise, I just haven't been creating cards, even though few years ago, I read Stacey Julian's book Big Picture Scrapbooking . And one of the things she recommended doing after creating a layout, was to use the scraps and make a card.. Which I think is a brilliant idea!
So I decided to do just that with my the leftovers from my November design team product. I had some great scraps left and created not one but two cards :) I have already used the "hi" card to send to my sister-in-law. The "you are so sweet!" card is going to be a thank you for a friend.
I miss the process of snail mail in this age of electronic communication and am happy to be sending some out.
Do you still send cards or letters through the mail?

  1. Most of the time I only send cards through the mail at Christmas. Those are totally cute, for some reason I never think to do cards on kraft even though I love it.

  3. love using scraps for cards. yours are fantastic. I do send them, but it seems when I need to mail a card, I buy one..........and the ones I make pile up in my scrap room - go figure, right?

  4. Love these! Great cards! :) I too love using scraps on cards and on many occasions I immediately make a card with the scraps after making a layout...never read that book though.

  6. You should make them more--they are adorable! I'm embarassed to say I don't think I've actually sent a card in the mail for quite some time! I do tuck them into birthday and baby gifts, though!

  7. These are adorable! I love the idea of using your scraps up this way. I absolutely send cards ;) There's just something about a handwritten note that arrives in the mail, right?

  8. Love the cards! They turned out great! To be honest, I am not as good at sending cards as I should be. I do make them for Operation Write Home though, so that others can! Thanks for sharing!!! -Amanda

  9. Those are so nice! I've been trying to make more cards with my scraps lately instead of spending the $3-5 on each card!

  16. I love the sweet card! The colors are so fun and a great way to use up the scraps. I used to be so good about making cards and sending them. But email has spoiled me and it's just too easy to type something up when I want to reach out. But I should make more cards and send them because I love it when someone thinks of me. :)
