Just want to start out by saying that the camp Evan was hating, well he ended up loving it!!! It's one of those cases of give him a day or two and he is ok. It was just so hard when he was saying to me, "please don't make me go back." And I have always taken the path with the kids that you finish it out. Whether it's a week, a season, or a session. Just to make sure. And if you really don't like it, then you don't have to do it again. I almost caved this time because he was so unhappy, but then decided to email the director and she was so fabulous and helpful. All of the teachers there were, and I am so glad I stuck to my guns. He is saying he wants to go back next year and learn more.
Moving on to scrapbooking! Today I am sharing the layout I made using Sketch #7 over at The Paper Bakery.
I used quite a few pieces from the June kit on the page. Plus a few older items I have had for a while. Like the lollipop and candy embellishments up at the top right corner. Love when I can do that!
My daughter has such an incredible sweet tooth to the point that she is limited to one "treat" a day now. It is hard for her, but she is handling it pretty well considering how much she loves to eat sweets.
Also want to share that the new "issue" sponsored by Pretty Little Studio is up and running today.
It all starts with a blog hop you can find HERE.
Plus all the details on how to participate for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Pretty Little Studio shop.
These are the projects created by the design team members participating in this blog hop. Since I was part of the Doodlebug hop, I am not doing it this time around. But I do plan to link up a few projects using the Nature theme.
And on a final sad note...so shocked to hear that Cory Monteith who plays Finn on Glee passed away this past Saturday at the age of 31!
I have watched every season and episode of Glee. Some I like, some not so much. It is a hit or miss show for me, with more hits than misses. And Finn was a favorite character of mine. This is such tragic news and I feel so sad for his friends and family. :(
Do you watch Glee?
i am also said about cory's death! i so hope it wasnt drug related! what a shame!
ReplyDeletesuper cute layout!
what a sweet layout and glad your little man liked camp after all!
ReplyDeleteGlad he had a great time at camp! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE your page! I am loving that sweet photo and the candy embellie!!! Adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteAdorable layout! Love it when the perfect photo comes along and let's you use up the stash. So sad about Cory - this was the first I heard about it. I watched Glee when it first started but not so much recently. So sad when someone dies so young...
ReplyDeleteAdorable layout! Glad your boy warmed up to camp!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous layout. Aren't kids funny like that. Although my last one has a casual attitude about everything..just rolls with punches.
ReplyDeleteCute page! I love how you combined the tab and frame.
ReplyDeleteYour page is just adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love how you placed your journaling in a frame!
ReplyDeleteI've only watched a few episodes of Glee, but was still very sad to hear the news. x
I've never seen Glee! I know, I know!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your son ended up loving his camp! Some kids take a while to warm up to different experiences. Beautiful page with your daughter.
I was so shocked to hear the news this weekend. So sad. I loved the show early on and his character. It's not going to be the same without him.
ReplyDeleteThe layout is fabulous!!!
I'm SO glad that Evan's camp experience turned out to be positive!! I KNOW how hard it is when your child is begging. Glad it worked out.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your sweet layout of Erin!!
No,I don't watch Glee, but am sad to read of this young man's passing.
So glad that Evan ended up enjoying camp! I am the same way with making my son stick with something once it has started. The layout of your daughter is so sweet...the polka dots remind me of those dot candies that you peel off wax paper. I was so saddened my the news of Finn's death as well...such a shame!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Evan ended up liking the camp! Your layout turned out adorable, great picture of Erin!! Landry also has a sweet tooth. She always wants dessert the second she finishes dinner!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that camp worked out. I always followed the same mantra as you about starting and finishing things!
ReplyDeleteErin and Little Mr P share a very sweet tooth! Funny how some just love sugar. Little Miss C...not so much!
It is always so sad when someone so young dies. Good to hear that Evan enjoyed camp in the end, kids can be so funny like that. Love the layout too, Erin is so sweet! Hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteI do not watch Glee, but so sorry to hear of someone passing so young. Awesome about Evan and camp. We were that way with our son; you finish what you start. Hard to do sometimes. Also love your scrapbook page!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Evan ended up liking camp. What a relief, right? :) Love your "sweet" page. Enamel dots always remind me of those pretty candies that look just like them, that we used to peel off the paper backing and eat. Pure sugar, but yummy. LOL!
ReplyDeleteOMG 31?! I don't know him and didn't watch but yikes that is way too young.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Evan likes it now. I can remember being that kid! My poor parents.
Such a fun LO! The embellies are perfect abs adorable! That is so awesome one treat a day!
The news about Cory Monteith is terrible. He was way too young.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that Evan ended up enjoying his camp! I am the same way - I don't like new things, but once I get used to them, I like them! Good thing my parents always made me stick it out (except soccer, I really hated soccer...and still hate it to this day!)
Your layout is awesome! I love all of the colors, especially the way they pop off the gray paper with the polka dots. And of course, the picture is too adorable!
My daughter is a huge glee fan so she was crushed, so sad!
ReplyDeleteGlad Evan likes camp now, it's such a fun experience for them :)
LOVING your layout, so cute!!
Love how you used the Sketch, Mary Jo and the touches of the Heidi Swapp you added to your layout! Glad to hear things changed for your son, and that he enjoyed the Camp!! Thanks for playing along with us @ The Paper Bakery!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous color combo, love pink and grey! :-)
ReplyDeleteI hear you about it being hard when kids don't want to go to something but you want them to persevere. Sophie was exactly the same way with a diving / trampoline day camp this summer.
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch Glee. I have stayed at the hotel where the actor died. Eek. It is a lovely hotel - unfortunate how so many celebs die in hotels that the hotels then become iconic through this association.
Such a pretty LO!! Love all the embellishments you added! Looks like a fun hop! Pretty picture of Erin!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that Evan loved that class!
Very sad about that actor. I did not watch Glee I heard its a good show!
