A Few Cards to Share

After I finished my layout for the "Mum's the Word" issue over at Paper Issues, I decided to create a few cards. It is definitely a goal I had for this year. Make a card or two with the scraps leftover from a layout.
I will not lie, and I am pretty sure I have said it before. I am a super simple card maker.
I use this three in a row design a lot. Like here...
and here...

and here...
It is my go to card design, that is for sure!
Here is the second card I did using my Doodlebug goodies...

Also really simple...one piece of polka dot patterned paper, one piece of white cardstock with distressed edges and inked in orange, one pop up flower sticker and a few letter stickers. Easy, right?
I like easy cards.
And here is a random card I made with a few other scraps I didn't feel like filing away...
Two pieces of patterned paper, a die cut tag and a stamped sentiment...done!

As for National Scrapbooking Day, I did not scrapbook at all. Just no time. Saturdays or so busy here!
And unless I specifically go away for a crop or scrapbook weekend, it will not happen. That's ok though. I am more of a weekday scrapper.

But here are two things that happened this weekend that I know some of you may already have seen on Facebook and Instagram...
Erin no longer has training wheels on her bike and she is riding like a pro with no help or assistance at all! She spent a lot of time on her bike this weekend with dad and the whole neighborhood cheering her on. :)
But we also spent some time relaxing...
in our hammock in the backyard. :) We had beautiful weather this weekend and I was so grateful for it after the long winter!

I hope you had a great weekend! Did you get any scrapbook time in on NSD?

  5. Love all your cards!!! Relaxing is always great for weekends, too! :) I didn't think I was going to have any scrappy time over the weekend, but I was able to sneak in a bit, so I was pretty happy about it! :)

  6. Congratulations Erin! That is such a big accomplishment and life will offer you so many adventures now!!!

1my grandaughter Little Miss C has her training wheels off and now her Mummy and Daddy are taking her to a grassy field to practise...she is very nervous about it. I hope she "graduates" like you did...with flying colours. Tell Mummy she makes great cards!

  9. I love simple cards too! These are great, that Doodlebug card is so cute!! No scrapbooking here either on Saturday, but we did paint the craft room, which is related ;). Don't you love it when they finally learn to ride!! Landry "learned" last year, but then gave up on it. The last three weeks she has picked it up again and now all she wants to do is ride!!

  11. I'm with you on creating clean and simple cards. I think people appreciate anything handmade, so it doesn't have to be super fancy. Congrats to Erin!

  13. I love the cards! What a great way to use up your scraps. I love the three design, it is so pretty and can be used in so many different ways.

I am the world's worst card maker...I very rarely do it, I just don't like it as much as scrapping I guess. But I love looking at everyone else's cards and how pretty they are.

That is awesome that Erin is riding her bike by herself now! It looks like you had a wonderful weekend.

I did a teensy tiny bit of scrapping (didn't even finish one layout) but spent the rest of the weekend relaxing. I usually scrap on Thursday nights while AJ is bowling. I like being able to take over the whole floor and table in front of the tv :)

  14. Your cards are wonderful.
You rock that 3 in a row design…so I say keep using it ;)
I may use it myself one day.
Congrats to Erin for riding with no more training wheels!!!!
Great photo of her and her dad :)
I put on a crop for NSD. It was a blast.
It was a bit muggy here, so didn't feel a bit bad for staying inside ;)

  15. I love your simple style of card making...at least for me, simple is better otherwise, the card is not likely to get made. Congratulations to Erin for braving the bike with no training wheels...what a milestone. I didn't manage to scrapbook at all on NSD....shame on me! However, I did scrapbook the majority of the day on Friday on got started on a new project for a friend at work so it wasn't a total bust.

  17. Great cards! In that last photo you can really see how much Erin looks like you. WTG on the bike riding. That's a scary thing removing those training wheels!

Unfortunately, we worked in the yard most of last Saturday. I say NSD should be moved to the dead of winter! lol
