The Day After Mother's Day

I was in a card making mood last week and made a few...

Yes, I used my three in a row design again! It's a great way to use up scraps of paper leftover from layouts. Just punch a ton of circles and add them to cards. One of my goals this year was to try and send more cards by mail. It's already May, and unfortunately these are the first. I made them for our moms and then sent the rest to sent the rest to a few close friends for Mother's Day.

For my own Mother's Day celebration yesterday, I just wanted two things...
to be able to sleep in a bit and not have to cook. :)
I did sleep in until around 8:30.
Mike and Erin had already brought donuts home before I woke up, so I didn't have to make breakfast.
While the boys were fishing, Erin and I prayed together for all of the wonderful moms (friends and family) in our lives, and I taught her how to say the rosary.
Afterwards, the two of us watched a few episodes of the Brady Bunch together. It is one of my favorite shows from my childhood and we have been getting it on DVD's from Netflix.

And then...

I got to scrapbook. Just one layout, but it was great!
I was totally inspired by This Layout by Cassie. And we both used the May Swag Bag at Paper Issues.
The pictures are from Mother's Day in 2011. Mike had taken Erin up to the playground for a little bit and brought the DSLR camera with him. :)
I actually took the picture of this layout with my iphone. It was a lot easier than using a regular camera and then editing it in a photo editing program. I just snapped, cropped on my phone and that was it! I may have to use my iphone for layout photos more often.

Anyway, after lunch (pizza from Little Ceasar's which Mike and Erin picked up again) we headed out to Six Flags amusement park for a few hours before Mike had to head out of town for work.
So my day was just the right mix of relaxing and spending time with my family. :)

Hope you had a great weekend!

  13. Thanks for your comment on my cards. I like your cards, too! I can see where that three-in-a-row design would be so versatile...you could do three stamps or three hearts or...the possibilities are endless. :) I like your LO too, and it's definitely full of sunshine. Hm, I don't have an iPhone, but I do have an iPad. I wonder if my iPad would also work for blog photos. I'll have to experiment and see. Happy (Belated) Mother's Day!

  18. It sounds like a wonderful day! I love this layout and I can't believe that you got that photo with your iPhone...you must have amazing lighting and what do you use for your background...I always struggle with that.

    1. My lighting is just ok really. I only have one spot in my house with good natural light and that is my scrap office with all the windows. I use a piece of white foam board as my background. Truthfully I was surprised that the lighting was so good cause it was actually a cloudy day!
