Since I have done absolutely no real crafting since last week, but work space hasn't changed much. Seriously! Same page on there with just a few photos stuck down. Hoping to change that this week.
Since so many of you comment about how much you love the view from my windows, I thought I would share a few photos today of how that view came to be :)
My scrap office is an old remodeled sun porch off a back upstairs bedroom.
My husband literally knocked it down to the supports!
Floor and all! And you can kind of see why I call it my scrap treehouse. I literally do feel I am scrapbooking way up in that huge Magnolia tree that is in our backyard :)
And then he built it all back up again from scratch! These are the windows you usually see in my photos :)
It took thirteen months from start to finish with everything else we had going on. And believe me, I am forever grateful for all of the hard work he put into this room for me. I do not take it for granted one little bit.
So just a different perspective of my scrap space today :)
And the reason I am sharing this is for What's on your Workspace Wednesday. I have linked up with
Julia's blog, the stamping ground, where we share our work spaces with fabulous crafters all over the world :)
Now for my Wednesday challenge at Craft Your Nest, I am asking you to scrapbook a layout using a letter as your journaling. Plus, I have a little giveaway to go with if you participate. So if you are in need of a challenge, come on over! :)
Happy Wednesday!
What a great room with a beautiful view, we're just about to start adding my little craft room to our home - I can't wait to be in there!

I always love seeing your view and it was so nice to see how it came to be! :)
ReplyDeletewhat a super view!! how fun
ReplyDeleteThe house looks beautiful! Thanks for showing it from that perspective. And I still love those windows. dani 137
ReplyDeleteLove this! Now I have a better idea of how you really are up in the trees. We had a sunporch like that in one of our houses. Such a great retreat!
ReplyDeleteAhhh...now I see how your room seems so up-in-the-tree! I'm afraid I'd never get anything done with such a pretty nature view. I'd be watching the birds and squirrels, etc.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the way your room sits in the tree!!!! I know it's not ACTUALLY in there, but it does feel like it and those windows are just wonderful! You have a great space and a great spouse to create that for you!
ReplyDeleteFab, fab room - I'm a writer and my study (or 'scriptorium', as a fancy name!) is...my cupboard under the stairs. Dark, small and a little chilly! I'd love your view...but I mustn't be jealous! Have a fun WOYWW - Deb's Pen Pot #146
ReplyDeleteI so love your space and how wonderful of your dear one to create such a precious tree house for you that is one special man. I have really enjoyed seeing your space this week from a different perspective.
ReplyDeleteHappy crafting if you can manage it.

Hi Mary Jo thanks for popping by and for your well wishes for Cal. I have no doubt you love your room. It is fab and so light and airy. I had no idea you were practically sitting in the trees - wonderful! Thank you for sharing. Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 22
ReplyDeleteI love your scrap space! It is amazing that your husband was able to build it from the supports like that! It really does look like a tree house from your windows!
ReplyDeleteI love your "Scrapbook Tree House" and can understand why you call it that now. What a special place it must be!
ReplyDeleteThanks for some history on your lovely tree house craft space!! It certainly turned the space into the best space in the house! Ah... to have a hubby who is handy! I don't need entire rooms built but if he could just fix a faucet or mend a fence.
ReplyDeleteamazing craft room! Happy WOYWW! Lindsay #10
ReplyDeleteLove the story about your scrap room renovation. I really like WOYWW but how are you able to visit all those blogs and comment, there were 165 last time (I think)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I know I can't visit every single blog on WOYWW. And most of the participants know that and are the same. I kind of *get to know* some of the great women who join in. So I look through for all the names I recognize first. Then I go through and visit all the bloggers whose number ends with the same as mine that week. That way I usually get to know a few more. I would say I visit about thirty total each week.
DeleteDefinitely more manageable :)
What a wonderful story on how your DH made your dream crafty space... do you rent him out..tee-hee.. he is very clever and he has done a fabulous job.. Have a happy week, Hugs May x x#5
ReplyDeleteThat is so very cool how your dh created this for you!!
ReplyDeleteLove how it turned out and what a great way to use the space!!
I have a L shaped desk too. I have a scrap space in a long walk in closet with a window that looks out my back yard but its a little smaller than your room since mine is long and not square. I have so much stuff in there now I dont scrap so I scrap at the dinning room table. I cant use any of the extra rooms in the house since its on the market.
TFS!!
WOW Mary Jo what a super treehouse and brilliant hubby for doing it for you (BJ wondering where her hubby could stick one up now - LOL). No actually I craft in my bedroom and it overlooks our back garden and we have a huge Magnolia tree just like yours. Really need to get back to scrapping as I am a few months behind right now too. Thanks for stopping by BJ#63
ReplyDeleteMary Jo, I enjoyed your post. I like seeing the full evolution of your scrap treehouse!! I love it. It is wonderful that your DH is so skilled and then made the decision to create your nest.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my desk and leaving a nice post. We will have to share the joys of having more time with our kids in school this year. It's a dream for me amd I hope I can do it for a while. So many things I want to do with that time.

Very cool space. Your husband is one handy man there -- it looks so great. Do you get the aroma from the magnolia tree when they are in bloom?
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me already. Work is getting the way today.....
Happy WOYWW

scrap room with a view! what a wonderful space!!
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased you showed us your room from outside, I have always wondered about it and now I know - thank you! Thank you also for your earlier visit, I have been watching the Paralympics so I am late today. Hugs, Anne x #47
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool room you have. It must have been a long process to have it all enclosed, but I'll bet it's your favorite place in the house.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and the kind words.
I've always admired your room and now it is even more special. You have one talented husband there.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
