Let's Just Say...

this pretty much fits me right now. At least the nights Mike is out of town for work. And right now, that is a lot.
Although I did go to bed before midnight on Tuesday :) But I am starting to feel the consequences of not enough sleep. Brings me back to the days when Erin and Evan were just babies.

I'm not totally sure why I can't get myself to bed at a decent hour when Mike is gone. But I think that I really need to make more of an effort. Definitely before midnight, right?

Anyway, now that it has been on the stands for a while, I want to share the two layouts I had published in the June 2012 issue of Scrapbook Etc. magazine. These are the last that I will have in this particular magazine now that they will no longer be in business. Another great scrap mag gone :(

I have actually never shared this first layout on my blog.
The call was for an article on childhood layouts. I had created this one a two years ago, but submitted on the chance that it would work. And it did :)
*ETA - I am linking up my "She's a Toddler" layout over at Paper Issues for their current "Sew Cute, You Keep Me in Stitches" issue. :)

I did share this second layout on my blog sometime last year.
I sent it in for the childhood call as well. So lots of fun to have two layouts in one issue :)

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend and I will *see* you on Monday :)

  1. I remember geting this issue in the mail, seeing your layouts and thinking "hey! I know her!" So fun :) congrats on your pub. I can totally relate to the staying up late problem. My hubs works the third shift 4 days a week and I can't seem to get into bed at a decent hour those nights either.

  3. Congrats on your pubs, Mary Jo! They looked fantastic in the mag. It's nice to see familiar names when I look through. :) I stay up late when I'm home alone too. Not sure why either.

  5. The quote made me LOL. So true! Love your layouts. Congrats on the pubs. I love seeing my friends in print! I had a project picked up for the October SBE and was paid for it the same week they announced they were ceasing publication.....Now I am thinking it won't be pubbed. Not unless they squeeze it into the August issue. RIP SBE. I will miss them.

  7. I always end up going to bed late when my husband is gone, too! I can't sleep well without him, so I stay up until I'm just dead tired! Your layout is great!

  8. Aww, those layouts are cute! I can be a night owl as well, but if hubby's not home I go to bed earlier than usual. I guess that I want to use the sleep to make time go faster until he returns. :)

  9. Great layouts, I love the retro feel of the second one.

I have exactly the same problem with sleep right now, my baby wakes up so early (around 5am some days) but I still can't make myself go to bed before 11.30pm - I need my evenings for scrapping and blogging! x

  10. Cute layouts!

When my husband is gone, I can't sleep either. I think its just my mind saying 'something isn't right!' Its been that way ever since 9/11. He was out of town on business and couldn't get home. I stayed up for three straight days until he was finally able to fly home. Since then, if he isn't here with me, I have a very hard time sleeping.

  11. Staying up late is my guilty pleasure either watching shows and/or scrapping. Can't seem to stop when on a roll. Kills my mornings though. Hope it gets better for you.

You know I loved these layouts when I saw them in scrapbooks, etc...love them!
