Five on Friday

1. Can hardly believe that Erin starts Kindergarten on Monday! Both kids will be in school full time!
And I have to giggle when people ask "what will you do with all that free time?" I have a feeling I will have plenty of things to keep me busy. Between one day for cleaning, one for volunteering at school, one day for running errands and grocery shopping, and one day for house projects, I think it will go by pretty fast!
And for a trip down memory lane, here we were five years ago!
Evan starting Kindergarten and Erin not quite a month old :)
Time really does fly!

2. But this summer hasn't been a waste. We have done a lot! Including a short trip this past weekend where Mike is working on a project. We filled our time with...
miniature golf...
and swimming in Mike's apartment complex pool.
Plus there was a day trip into Springfield to the Bass Pro Shop for Evan to get a fishing pole. He has been watching episodes of River Monsters with Jeremy Wade and has become a little obsessed with learning to fish. Mike took him to a lake on Sunday to practice.

And then I took him to a local park yesterday to try it again :)

3. Sad to see summer ending and am so glad my kids are starting school late in the month. I actually have a post up on the Craft Your Nest blog from Wednesday with some layouts that make me think of summer.

4. I also have a post on the Scrapbooking from the Inside Out blog about "Escaping Perfection" in your scrapbooking. A few layouts as examples there as well.

5. And finally, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I will be back Monday with a new layout as long as all goes well with installing our new computer :)

  1. Great pix of your summer adventures! Enjoy these last few days of summer.

And yes, you will still be plenty busy while your kids are at school. I know I always am!

  2. Great photos. Love mini golf! :) Enjoy these last days and have a fab weekend.

  3. Looks like you definitely had some fun times, Mary Jo. I love the shot of Evan fishing. That's an awesome photo. I need to go read your article about escaping perfection. I think you wrote it just for me. :)

  4. You will fill those days sooner than you think! Great pics! Time flies with our babies!

  5. You guys were certainly busy making memories! I hope your kiddos have a wonderful school year!

  6. Time sure flies doesn't it?! Great pics. Looks like you filled the end of your summer vacation with a lot of fun activities!

  7. I really don't like when people asked me what I was going to do with my time. Believe me there is plenty to do, lol.
My youngest doesn't go for her first day until next month. It will be her last year of highschool :( Where has the time gone.
So happy you were able to fit so much into your summer :)

  8. Love all of the pictures!! Looks like a fun and memorable Summer!!

  11. your photos are beautiful Mary Jo (the one of your son is precious!), you should give them more space on your blog!

  12. that first picture is just precious. I know summer has come and gone. And it is so funny that people wonder what you will do! There's plenty!!!

  13. Looks like you guys had a great time visiting Mike. Too funny about Evan and the fishing. I hope all goes well with the first day and you enjoy the kids being back at school. I thought I would be a wreck on Landry's first day, but I kept it together.

  14. It looks like you had a wonderful summer! I hope Erin has a wonderful first day of kindergarten tomorrow! That is so exciting!!

  15. I totally get this...Sometimes i feel the same and I don't even have kids at home anymore! LOL
