Talk About a Crazy Week!

I came very close to not blogging today because we have been dealing with this...
Not the best photo because it's night time and from my phone.
Let me explain.
A huge thunderstorm blew through here on Tuesday night. A crazy big one that uprooted a tree that was in the park across the street which then fell on my mini van. That is the vehicle covered in with the tarp closest to the camera. Mike ran out and covered it because of all the rain rushing in through the busted windshield and destroyed sun roof.
So the tree was literally blocking the street! Most people turned around when they got to it. All except for that red car. He apparently didn't see the huge tree blocking the road and drove into it. Was literally stuck on it.
So the police came. And there is also the crowd of onlookers. Mike is second from the right talking to one of our neighbors. At this point when I snapped the photo, the forestry department had arrived to cut the tree. I was impressed with the speed those men went to with the chainsaw!

As for my van, it is apparently totaled according to the place where it was towed. Despite the tarp there was just too much water damage :(
So at this point not sure what is going to happen.

But the good news is no one was hurt. We are all safe :)
And I was so grateful that Mike was in town this week to help me deal with this.
And I did manage to finish all of my design team layouts for the Scrapbooking from the Inside Out October kit. I am sorry I don't have personal peeks from my own layouts though. Just this one that was up on the site
and this one...
the pretty papers included in the kit this  month by Echo Park and Basic Grey. So, so pretty :)
So I will be back on Monday with my first layout for the month!
Hope you have a good weekend! I am sure we will be doing some car shopping.

  17. I'm not even going to comment about the guy that drove into a tree. Oh my! I'm glad no one was hurt. Storms can surely do some serious property damage. Men with chainsaws-I'm so impressed how quick they can turn a downed tree into kindling.
