Journey of Faith

Well, I was away from the blog a few days longer than expected. The kids and I decided to go out of town this weekend to visit Mike down at his job site. And then Monday was a day of unpacking, doing laundry and just recovering from the weekend :)

But today I want to share another layout I created this month using the Journey kit by Scrapbooking From the Inside Out. I decided to tackle another "serious" topic that has been on my mind the past few years. My religion and my faith. Let's just say there have been times that I hit a few bumps in the road. The deaths of two good friends to cancer was a big loss for so many and a huge blow to me. So I decided to do a page about the path I have been following related to my faith. I have to say it was a little bit of a relief to journal about this.

I used some older photos here from my First Communion day :)  I have to laugh though. The one thing my kids couldn't get over about these photos was the size of my cake for my party that day. It always goes back to cake doesn't it? :)

This layout was also featured in a post on the Creating Keepsakes blog with other design team member layouts. You can see the post here along with the chance to receive the October kit from SFTIO just by leaving a comment there.

I hope you have a great Tuesday and thanks for stopping by today!

  1. Ah yes, it's always about the food, especially when the food is a dessert. LOL! :) This is such a lovely layout, Mary Jo! Beautiful, soft colors. I love how the three photos correspond to the journaling columns.

  3. Gorgeous page! I love these older photos. I was raised Catholic too but barely remember my first communion. My parents didn't take any photos - which shows how into they were. This really is a great "me" page and I love how you did this. I may have a First Communion card in my childhood box. I'm going to look for it and put a page like this on my list of to do item. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

  5. This is a beautiful page!

I love your journaling. Everyone has their own journey with their faith, and it is such a wonderful thing to document. AJ and I are also Catholic, but weren't very active, we rarely went to church, and I know prayer wasn't a daily part of my life. Now that we have completed our pre cana, we are really getting back into it. I think this would be a great thing for us to document as part of our pre-wedding album! Thank you for the idea!!

  13. Great layout...I struggle with my faith but raised one true believer. She still attends and takes her kids to catechism lclasses, volunteers, etc. She married a man from the Memmonite faith and her has always supported his children learning her religion.
Love all the precious bits of info on this layout!

  14. I love this layout, both from a design perspective and the sentiment behind it. Good for you for journaling about your faith. It's not something I've seen a lot of, or something I've done much of myself. I think it's time I get some of my own faith onto my pages.
