That is what I find myself saying quite a bit today (on Monday, the day I am writing this post). It's just been one of those days.
But thankfully it was broken up a bit by the kids excitement over "Tacky Day" at school and a great lunch with two of my best friends.

I was hoping to have a completed layout to share today, but it just didn't happen.
I have this sketch that I saw on the October Afternoon blog last week,
Plus these three images I printed on cardstock of three of my favorite movies from high school.
It was going to be a fun little page in my mind.
Until I decided I just had to include the movie ticket stubs.
Yes, I have saved some of the stubs from these movies for all these years! They are stored in a little photo pocket protector like people used to carry around in their wallets to store those little wallet sized photos. (Do people even really use those anymore?)
Anyway, I saw these three movies at the theater in high school with good friends and saved the stubs.
Along with my first ticket stub to a U2 concert back in 1988!
And my ticket stub to Phantom of the Opera on Broadway which I saw the same year on a school trip to New York City over Christmas break.

I have had them for years stored in my jewelry box on my dresser.
And guess what?
When I went to grab them today, they were gone. Yep, gone!
Why? Where? When? What?!!!
I am sure I moved them for some reason, but for the life of me, I am not sure when, where or why?
So I searched the place where I keep our very important papers and passports.
The reason being, I used to keep those important things in the bottom section of the same jewelry box. And I thought maybe, just maybe, my stubs were with all of it.
And then on top of that, I notice my passport is not with the kids passports.
Another great mystery.
So I spent a good chunk of time searching for ticket stubs and a passport totally perplexed as to why they were not where they would normally be.

*ETA* found the passport but not the ticket stubs as of this morning :)

And if you are still with me, I have a peek for you at my project that will be in the next issue of
Crafting Ireland magazine using...
this shadow box frame...
and some of these fun goodies :)
I can't wait to show you the finished piece. I am more a scrapbook layout girl and not so much a decor maker, but had fun creating this one. And I used one of my teacher skills doing it! :)

Well, hopefully next time I post it will be with a layout!
If I could just find those ticket stubs!

  1. Oh gosh! I hope you find the ticket stubs AND your passport, Mary Jo. I was missing a package of clear cut transparency embellishments for a number of days. I could not, for the life of me, find them (despite the fact that I had just used one). I just found them yesterday, stuck to the back of another collection I had used recently. LOL!

  2. good luck finding your items!!

oh i can't wait to see your new project- l like all t he products that you have out so i can't wait

  3. Hope you find them!! And I loved those movies too!!! Have you heard the Pitbull song from Men in Black 3?? It's called Back in Time ... and the chorus of the song is from a song from Dirty Dancing .... I have it as my ring tone so I can hear it whenever I want! LOL!! :)

  4. I hate when I think that I know exactly where something is and then go to get it and it isn't there....so frustrating! I hope that you find them because the layout sounds like it will be so cute! And, I love the colors in your craft project....hope we get to see it soon. Have a great day!

  5. Glad that you found the passport.

Love the bright colors that you are working with. I can't wait to see the finished project.

  6. Oh my gosh, Adventures in Babysitting is one of my all time favorite movies! I hope you find your stubs. You know what will probably happen, you'll finish the layout and THEN the stubs will turn up. Haha! Glad you found your passport! Can't wait to see that decor project!!

  7. Oh no!
I hope you find them...maybe you could allocate space for them on the layout by using an embellishment that would work in a pinch and then when you locate them.track them down, then you could replace those elements.
If you used repositionable glue it would make it easier!

    Sounds like a fun layout!

    1. I definitely think I am going to go back and add them at a later date. Just glad I found the passport!!

  8. The ticket stubs will turn up where you least expect to find them...... hope it's not too long though as it can be irritating. I love that shadow box frame, really looking forward to seeing what you do with the that and those beautiful tapes. Hugs, Anne x

  9. Glad you found your passports -- that would be a bit scary to lose those!

  10. You kill me!! LOVE reading your posts.

I say "really" a lot, too and it's in the form of a question. LOL

I loved seeing the pictures of Tacky Day on FB!!

  11. What a fun project! I wish that I had saved those ticket stubs, too! Some of them might be hidden in my old diaries! LOL! I have to check some day. Thank you for a great post!

  12. And, yes - I hope you'll find those ticket stubs. I'm sure you will! ;)

  13. hi
I still have gig tickets( they used to be called concerts) from the early 70's maybe I should find them out and scrap them... maybe I will add that thought to my pile. good luck

  14. Oh no! I am so sorry. I keep ticket stubs too and I'd be so stressed if I couldn't find it. But when I lose something, I go crazy until I find it.

I am very glad that you found your passport though, that is very important!

I hope today got better. Can't wait to see your decor piece!

  15. I do hope you find your tickets! I can't wait to see your finished project with all the gorgeous washi!

  16. So happy you found your passport.
As for the ticket stubs...that would drive me crazy..I would be tearing up the house.
I know this, because this happens to me more times then I like to admit, lol.
    I Love The Lost Boys!!!!!

  17. What a bummer about not be able to find some of your ticket stubs and movie stubs. Glad you found some of them and the passport.
Sounds like a fun LO and I think I know what you will do to that frame!!
Looking forward seeing the finished frame & LO!

  18. I hope you find your stubs! I'm sure this will not surprise you.......I have saved just about every ticket stub from every movie I've gone to see. I've scrapbooked some of the really old ones - like the Karate Kid and Goonies! LOL. But I still have many in my memorabilia collection, waiting to be documented. Can't wait to see what you do with yours. :)

  19. I don't think I could rest until I found those tickets! I used to keep all of that too but have no clue where any of it is. Love the whole idea of that LO! Oh can't wait to see what you are up too. That frame and washi tape look like a lot if fun together!

  20. Oh and meant to say thank you for using my code for Paper Issues! It does help me with my purchases!
